I had just been using the same key to unlock the doors and start our 2001 Pontiac Aztek, but my sister told me I could buy a keyless remote online and program it easily. I had read some reviews about some people having trouble programming it, but I thought I'd take a chance. Well, I had been at work when it came in the mail and my husband sneakily said it hadn't arrived yet, and when we went somewhere later on, he did a few things with the ignition key and lock/unlock buttons and then handed me my newly programmed keyless entry remote. I've been really happy with it and had no problems at all. The range isn't very far, but that's not a big deal. The programming worked for all the buttons: lock and unlock the doors, pop the hatch open and even make the horn beep! Definitely a great buy! Oh yeah, and my husband likes to steal my keys just so he can use the remote! We might have to get another one!
